Every unit is defined against the second. A minute is 60 seconds, an hour 3,600 seconds, a day 86,400 seconds and a week 604,800 seconds.

Months and years are not fixed lengths
A calendar month lasts 28, 29, 30 or 31 days and a calendar year 365 or 366. This converter therefore treats them as averages, based on the mean Gregorian year of 365.2425 days, and marks the result as approximate. For an exact answer about specific dates, count the days between those dates instead.
Days and clock changes
A day here is exactly 24 hours. A calendar day on which the clocks change is 23 or 25 hours long. Leap seconds are ignored.
